Creative Connection

with Meyer Design

Inviting you to slow down, connect, and discover the joy of creating with your hands.

As creative professionals, we often spend so much time producing that we forget to simply create freely. These hands-on experiences turn an ordinary lunch break or afternoon happy hour into a meaningful moment of connection, calm, and play.

I arrive with everything needed to transform your space — seasonal botanicals, textiles, natural pigments, and a touch of creative alchemy. Together, we’ll pause, explore, and discover the joy of making something by hand with each other.

Dye on the Side offers unique team experiences that create space to reconnect with creativity — no deadlines, no expectations — just curiosity, color, and connection.

Natural Dye Potion Making

Natural Dye Potion Making is a hands-on, sensory art experience that blends creativity, natural dyes, and a touch of magic.

I bring a fully curated dye apothecary to your event — complete with natural pigments, dried botanicals, and plant extracts. Guests are invited to explore and experiment, learning how natural dyes are created and where these beautiful colors come from in nature. Together, we’ll mix ingredients to craft signature color potions inspired by flowers, roots, and leaves.

These “potions” are then used to dye natural-fiber cotton bandanas, revealing soft, organic hues and one-of-a-kind patterns. The process is as relaxing as it is inspiring — equal parts art, science, and mindfulness.

Duration: 45 minutes – 1 hour
Setup: Perfect for indoor or outdoor gatherings. Ideal for creative breaks, lunch sessions, or afternoon happy hours that spark curiosity, connection, and joy.

Various colorful scenes from a outdoor gathering or party, featuring decorated tables with flowers, food, and drinks. One image shows a table with a floral centerpiece and plates of food and drinks. Another shows a rainbow-colored cake with a sunflower on top. A third shows a flat lay of vegetables, herbs, and lemon slices. Additional images include a jar with a yellow egg on top, a person holding a tie-dyed cloth, and a person pouring water into a bowl at the table.

Botanical Solar Dyeing

Solar dyeing is a playful, hands-on art form that combines the magic of nature, sunlight, and creativity.

Using a solar-reactive, non-toxic pigment, guests apply color that goes on almost clear — then transforms before your eyes, developing vibrant hues as it bonds to natural fabric in the sunlight.

Each guest will design and dye their own one-of-a-kind silk scarf, choosing from a rainbow of colors and seasonal botanicals. Every guest also receives a take-home container for easy, long-lasting care.

Duration: 1.5 hours
Setup: Works beautifully with sunlight access — outdoors or on a balcony. For later-afternoon or indoor sessions, I bring UV lights to create a magical glowing effect that mimics sunlight

Why It Matters

I created these experiences to offer a space to slow down, reconnect, and create without expectations. Dye on the Side was born from my journey in corporate fashion, transforming my own healing practice into a space where creativity, sustainability, and well-being intersect. I deeply understand how valuable these creative gatherings are for connecting colleagues and fostering lasting connections.

These creative experiences encourage:

  • Connection — building community through shared creative play

  • Calm — reducing stress and inviting mindfulness through hands-on making

  • Innovation — enhancing problem-solving and fresh thinking

  • Joy — reminding us that creativity is a practice, not a performance

  • Nature — connecting with the seasons and plants around us
